Sexual Health Clinic

Want to find out what your HIV status is? Want to see if you have any other Sexually Transmitted Blood Borne Infections (STBBIs)? Is it time for you to get a pap test done? Then the Gens Hellquist Queer Sexual Health Clinic is the place for you! Come to OUTSaskatoon on Thursday evenings from 5:00pm to 8:00pm for a full range of tests for HIV, Hepatitis C, Syphilis, and other STBBIs in a queer and trans friendly environment.

The Queer Sexual Health Clinic provides rapid HIV testing which has results in two minutes. This means that you don't have to wait  and worry for two weeks about your test results. It is also a safe  and inclusive space for all queer and trans people, with a qualified nurse on site to answer any of your sexual health related questions.

Are you wanting to start PrEP? Are you curious if PrEP is right for you? OUTSaskatoon's new PrEP clinic launched in June of 2018 so that people within the LGBTQ2S community would be able to access PrEP in a Queer and Trans-inclusive environment. The clinic operates every second Saturday of the month and is open to anyone wanting more information about PrEP or those who are wanting to start PrEP.

If you are wanting to start PrEP you must have lab work done at least one week prior to your appointment. Lab work can be done here at OUTSaskatoon during our Thursday evening sexual health clinic, or at Saskatoon Sexual Health throughout the week, or at your regular medical clinic.

History of the Gens Helquist Sexual Health Clinic:

OUTSaskatoon's Gens Helquist Sexual Health Clinic was launched in April of 2012, in partnership with Sexual Health  Centre Saskatoon and the Saskatoon Health Region. It was  Saskatchewan's first clinic geared towards the sexual health of  gay,  bisexual, and men who have sex with men (MSM). However,  since  its inception, the clinic has had an open door policy to people  of all sexualities and gender identities. In 2013, we expanded our  services to include lesbian & trans individuals and began offering pap tests in addition to our extensive STBBI testing services.
