Join us for the 30th anniversary of Aids Walk Saskatoon October 1st, 2023.
The first Saskatoon AIDS Walk took place in 1993 and thirty years later, OUTSaskatoon, Prairie Harm Reduction, Saskatoon Sexual Health are collaborating to host this annual fundraising walk.
Saskatchewan has the highest HIV rate in Canada, about triple the national average, which is fueled by injection drug use. This is further compounded by the crystal meth and overdose epidemic that the province is currently facing. 1 in 5 people don’t know they are living with HIV. Your participation in Saskatoon AIDS Walk will help fund support services for people living with AIDS and demonstrate visible support for people who are living with HIV.
All Saskatoon AIDS Walk proceeds support direct services for people living with and impacted by HIV/AIDS in our community. Funds are used to deliver programming and support services, education and resources, and to operate Saskatchewan’s first safe-consumption site. Together, over half a million Canadians have raised more than $42 million to support programs and services in their communities. Last year alone the Saskatoon AIDS Walk raised $74,000.
Saskatoon AIDS Walk is about so much more than fundraising, it is about creating awareness about the realities of HIV/AIDS in Saskatoon. It is an opportunity to collaborate and share the extensive resources of Prairie Harm Reduction, OUTSaskatoon and Saskatoon Sexual Health. It is a time to celebrate the generous spirit of Saskatoon.
Help us reach our fundraising goal of $75,000! Exclusive prizes are available for those who reach fundraising milestones of $250, $500, $1000 & $1500
