This session will introduce participants to an overview of Two spirit identities and some of the knowledge that has been lost due to colonization. We will discuss some of the languages and beliefs of Two Spirit people and how they had a role within their communities prior to colonization. In addition we will discuss how colonization worked to erase and silence Two Spirit people and the impact it has done to the community. Lastly, this workshop will highlight the modern day movement to revitalize and reclaim their identities, along with how allies can support and advocate for the community.
