Melody Wood is a nēhiyaw napēkan from waskicosihk (Little Pine First Nation). She was raised in small town Saskatchewan, took post-secondary and started her career in Regina before moving to Saskatoon. Her involvement at OUTSaskatoon started by supporting Marjorie Beaucage in the creation of Two Spirit programming at OUT. She then started attending and supporting events and programming. In 2018, she started on the board as Secretary and next to Board Chair. Having three kids, one of whom is exploring their identity, it is important to her to be a part of an organization that helps to make the lives of youth ripe with learning and opportunity. She believes that it is important to bring an Indigenous voice to the board that has an understanding of Indigenous worldviews.
