Morgana Machea was born and raised in Pantanal, Brazil, land of the Guató, Bororo, Guaikuru, Paresí, Ricbacta and Umutina peoples. They have been playing, learning and working on Treaty 6 Territory since 2019. They moved to Canada to pursue their MA in Women’s, Gender and Sexualities Studies (2022), during which their first contact with OUTSaskatoon took place by supporting community-led research projects. Morgana believes in building stronger communities by putting relationships first (with people, nature, animals, the environment). They have experience in community engagement and advocacy, and currently work as a Programs Officer at the University of Saskatchewan supporting research development through meaningful connections and engagement. Committed to life-long learning, they are currently enrolled in the Graduate Certificate in Learnership program at the Edwards School of Business. Morgana is at their happiest when they are hanging out with their partner and two cats (Amara and Fernando), out on a walk by the river, or on a hike in the woods.
