Trans Care Fund

 What is the trans care fund?

The Trans Care Fund is a microgrant. It is available to our transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming community members who need financial assistance for gender affirming care. Applicants can request funding for various needs, up to a maximum of $1500 per person. Some examples of what the funds can be used for include: 

  • Identification document change
  • Record check and fingerprints 
  • Gender affirming care 
  • Gender affirming surgeries
  • Mileage to receive gender affirming care/surgeries
  • Gender affirming gear 
  • HRT 

how does the trans care fund work?

The Trans Care Fund committee meets on a monthly basis to review applications. The committee is comprised of transgender, non-binary and gender non-conforming employees at OUTSaskatoon. The committee will make the final decision on which applicants are successful. Successful applicants will be issues a cheque for the amount requested(upon availability of fund). OUTSaskatoon offers transportation and help with depositing the cheque at a bank, if necessary.
